This Swiss international merchant bank is looking for a skilled Non Life Catastrophe Risk Modeller to join one of its specialist linked insurance investment teams in Zurich.
Working within the products & Services division, which sits with in the Asset Management section, the Catastrophe Risk Modeller is asked to examine and research a series of catastrophe risk modelling on behalf of the portfolio management team for the existing fund and product range.
Of particular focus is ensuring all models are complete and accurate for the insurance linked investment product range (e.g.
Cat Bond Funds & Insurance-Linked Investment Funds). As Catastrophe Risk Modeller you will be tasked with undertaking all the analysis, modelling and underwriting of insurance-linked securities (ILS), industry-loss warranties (ILW) and traditional retro/reinsurance contracts.
In this well paid insurance job you can expect to be asked to apply licensed risk modelling software to assess exposures for individual deals & to run exposure reports on the different portfolios of the funds and mandates.
These duties can and will include having to update exposures on an ongoing basis; stress test scenarios and historic events.
You can also expect a major role in the operational handling of contracts (check premium payments; loss reserving etc) and to have to build relationships with counterparties (brokers, investment banks, reinsures etc)
To be considered for Catastrophe Risk Modeller job you should be a Bachelor in Business Administration or hold a numerate University degree (Engineering, Economics, Mathematics or similar).
A high level of specific knowledge of catastrophe modelling tools is required, so it is expected you have at least three years practical application experience in the reinsurance industry (RMS, AIR, EQECat or similar).
You should be fluent in English and German, and due to the international nature of this business any other languages are beneficial.
