This Geneva based bank and broker / trader has a global private Exchange that acts as a clearing network for a variety of fixed income and commodity based trades. To manage all the commercial cross border trading activity for commodities and commodity based instruments
that happens upon the Exchange , the bank is keen to recruit a skilled Commodities Trade Coordinator to manage, control and grow the commodity trading activity.
This is a senior role and an outstanding opportunity for an experienced commodity trader / trading manager.
The Exchange has been designed to revolutionize the management and trading of a variety of assets including commodity based ones. It is being adopted by forward thinking firms from the wealth management industry. These include other investment banks, pension funds, broker/dealers, private investors and family offices. With regards to commodity trading the Exchange is mainly focused upon hard commodity contracts, futures contracts and swaps. The trades are global in nature and often a private placement. Clients for the Exchanges commodity trading services use it be because it is a comprehensive virtual commodities market that can be used to prevent many of the asset identification issues that stop the successful completion of many global transactions. On the commodities side of things customer are usually the banks, commodity based ETF's, mutual funds or private ultra high net worth investors.
The Commodities Trade Coordinator is in charge of orchestrating the on-boarding process for membership for the Exchange, and who wish to trade commodities in general (precious metals, gems / minerals,oil) and commodity based instruments.
The Commodities Trade Coordinator works with the prospective members and their bank officers / bank manager to confirm that the prospective member does indeed have the commodity or instrument that they purport to own. Thus, the Commodities Trade Coordinator acts as a third party liaison to facilitate these transactions and meet all the regulatory, compliance and legal process requirements of both counter-parties. Effectively they will be managing, co-coordinating and handling the process requirements of private placement transactions involving commodity based assets
. Many of these trades exceed the $100 M mark and the Commodities Trade Coordinator will handle the commodity asset allocation, risk analyses, forecasting and the trade itself. The key to success is working with the clients bank to ensure the trade is executed correctly.
To be successful the Commodities Trade Coordinator must be familiar with commodity trading and commodity based contracts.
- It is expected that the successful applicant for the Commodities Trade Coordinator vacancy will be a banking professional or CTA with at least five years experience of banking transactions management & international cross border commodity trading.
- You will be familiar with the trading of commodities futures & options and understand the asset administration requirements of the private banking / wealth management industry.
- You will be comfortable dealing with both ultra high net worth individuals and banking institutions.
- It is expected you will be a skilled SWIFT and Bloomberg operator who is quick to understand and use the latest on-line systems and technology.
